BBB A+ Accredited Trusted Home Warranty Coverage Since 1995

Home Warranty Basics

Homeowners insurance protects your home from sudden or accidental damage like fires and storms. A home warranty covers the repair or replacement of major systems and appliances when they fail from normal wear and tear, things like your AC, water heater, refrigerator, or dishwasher. The two work together: insurance for catastrophes and a warranty for everyday breakdowns.

A manufacturer's warranty covers defects on a single new product, usually for one or two years from purchase. A GlobalHome USA home warranty covers the repair or replacement of major systems and appliances when they fail from normal wear and tear, regardless of who made them or when you bought them. Most home warranties pick up where the manufacturer's warranty leaves off.

66% of homeowners report the failure of two major systems within the first year of owning a home. For buyers, a warranty turns "what if something breaks?" into "we are covered." For sellers, including a warranty makes the listing more attractive, with data showing that homes sell up to 15% faster when marketed with a warranty.

No. We do not require a home inspection to issue a contract. The only requirement is that the items you want covered were in good working order at the time the policy started. Pre-existing failures are excluded under every home warranty contract on the market.

Gold covers core kitchen and laundry appliances. Platinum adds the major systems: heating, AC, plumbing, electrical, and water heater. Elite adds pool and spa equipment, additional refrigeration, and higher coverage caps. If you want broad coverage at the best value, Platinum is our most popular plan.

Filing a Claim

Call our toll-free claims line. We open a service ticket and dispatch a licensed, vetted technician from our nationwide network. You pay one flat service fee at the visit. We coordinate the rest of the covered repair, and if the unit cannot be repaired, we coordinate replacement under the terms of your policy.

Most regions have same-day or next-business-day appointments for high-priority claims like HVAC failures or refrigerator outages. Time of day, region, and technician availability affect scheduling. We always aim to get you back to normal as quickly as possible.

The service fee is a flat charge you pay the technician at the visit. It replaces the diagnostic and trip fees you would otherwise pay separately. The fee amount depends on your plan and contract, your sales agent will quote the exact figure when you order.

GlobalHome USA dispatches from our nationwide network of vetted, licensed service providers, which keeps quality consistent and the claim process simple. If you have a strong preference for a contractor you have used before, call us before scheduling. In many cases we can authorize that contractor to perform the work under your plan.

If a covered item cannot be reasonably repaired, we coordinate replacement under the terms of your policy. You do not write a second check beyond the flat service fee you already paid at the visit. Replacement caps and like-kind matching rules are described in your contract.

Yes. If the same covered issue recurs within the workmanship period (typically 30 days from the original repair), call us and we will send the technician back to address it under the original service ticket, with no additional service fee.

There is no annual cap on the number of claims you can file as long as the items are covered under your plan and within the per-incident coverage limits in your contract. File one claim or file ten. That is exactly why you carry a policy.

Coverage

Gold covers refrigerators, ovens, ranges, cooktops, dishwashers, built-in microwaves, washers, dryers, garbage disposals, and trash compactors. Platinum adds heating, AC, ductwork, plumbing system, plumbing stoppages, electrical, water heater, garage door opener, and ceiling fans. Elite adds pool and spa equipment, additional refrigeration, central vacuum, roof leak repair (select configurations), and higher coverage caps.

Pre-existing conditions, improper installation or modifications, cosmetic damage, items outside the dwelling, and components specifically excluded by your contract are not covered. We always recommend reading the full plan terms, and our agents will walk you through them when you order.

GlobalHome USA covers normal wear-and-tear failures regardless of the age of your appliances or systems, as long as the item was in good working order when the policy started. Older items can be more prone to failure, which is exactly why a home warranty is valuable.

Waiting periods vary by plan and how the policy was purchased. Real estate transaction policies typically take effect at closing with no waiting period on most covered items. Renewal and direct-to-homeowner policies may include a short waiting period for certain coverages.
